BLOGGING ON SWEEPING ZEN, AND ONLINE ZEN PRACTICE!

Hi everybody!
I just wanted to let everyone know that I haven't stopped blogging, but have started blogging on the Sweeping Zen site. I hope you will check it out. Living Zen talks are still being uploaded several times a week to iTunes
Now, the big news is, you can actually sit with me in the morning. Here at the Victoria Zen Centre, we are always looking at new ways of making this practice more accessible. Thanks to people like Maurice Lagasse at WCS here in Victoria, we are using some web conferencing software to make the Zendo available to folks where ever they are.
Some activities, like a simple morning sit will be open to everyone. You can check it out Monday and Thursday mornings from 6:00-6:45am PST. I'll ring the bells, and you just have to sit. You'll be able to see who else is online and sitting, and get the sounds of the Zendo, as well as my ugly mug looking at you! Just visit this LINK at the aforementioned time. Be sure to disable screensavers and power management that might shut off your monitor while you sit.
To add to the atmosphere, consider getting some gozan incense by shoyeido, which is what we burn here in our Zendo, and really set the tone.
Other activities, such as live talks, courses etc. will be available to Zen Centre members, and course registrants. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions, or need support getting connected.
I think it's important to say that this new technology will not, and cannot replace live, eyeball to eyeball practice, it is no substitute for in person training. That said, for those who are distant from any sangha or Centre, for those who due the vicissitudes of life can't make it to the Zendo on a particular day, it is certainly better than nothing.
I look forward to practicing together!
Be well,
Eshu
